Guggenheim Museum
Inaugurated in 1980 in the Palazzo Vernier dei Leoni today the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is Italys most important museum for European and American art of the 20th century and the most visited one in Venice.
Patron of the Avantgarde Peggy Guggenheim lived here from 1949 - 1979, the building itself is dating back to 1798.
Visiting the Collection of abstract and surrealistic art with more than 200 exhibits from Miró, Magritte, Kandinsky, de Chirico, Mondrian, Pollock, Max Ernst, Paul Klee, Henry Moore, Modigliani, Giacometti and others you can overlook modern art almost entirely.
The building as well as the garden host sculptures, among them the "infamous" Angelo della città - an equestrian erecting as his body as well as his... we think you'll get it. If not: Here are the opening times.
