Croatia has 79 larger islands (with an area of over 1 km²). If you include the many islets (some barely bigger than two beach towels), the total comes to 1,244. Four of them stand out in particular.

Stating the obvious: Located in the Pašman Channel near Sveti Petar na Moru, it is best known for its almost perfect heart shape. No doubt about it: the Island of Hearts!
A tiny, uninhabited islet north of Primošten, surrounded by exceptionally clear, turquoise waters. With its small size, light-colored rocky coastline, and sparse trees, it looks almost like a natural gem in the Adriatic when viewed from the air.
