Weekly markets

along the Adriatic

Weekly markets are a popular way to buy clothes and other everyday items while on vacation, away from the overrun shopping malls.

... and to discover what people eat elsewhere. Sometimes you'll come across a pleasant surprise or two - a new spice, an interesting cheese, or some unusual antique furniture - or whatever else there is to discover along the Adriatic coast.

Pro tip:
At any kind of fair, it pays to get up early. That way, the best items are still available and it's not too hot yet.

Weekly markets

in Croatia

Unlike in Italy, weekly markets aren’t quite as common in Croatia. Of course, there are a few, but nowhere near as many as in Italy.
That’s because in Croatia, every day is market day. The usual hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the usual mix of fresh fruit, vegetables, regional specialties, clothing, household goods, and leather goods.
