Always on August 10:
This festival has been celebrated since 1888. August 10 is traditionally the day when farmers would come to the beach to spend the day there. According to popular belief, people believed in the therapeutic effects of a sea bath on this special day, hence the old saying:
A swim on San Lorenzo counts for seven (take the opportunity to go for a swim in the sea on San Lorenzo).
Today, San Lorenzo is celebrated with a grand spectacle and fireworks. The event is free, but in the age of COVID, it is subject to tickets and reservations (we'll have to see how that develops - we'll keep you posted).
