The mosaics in the Basilica of Aquileia are exceptionally beautiful and well worth seeing. But the adjoining 4th-century baptistery is definitely a must-see.
An incredibly impressive place and an experience in itself. An octagonal building with a hexagonal baptismal font surrounded by six stone columns.
If you're in the area, be sure to take the time to visit. Photos can't really capture the atmosphere.
