Nude beaches
The following bays on Rab are recommended for swimming in the nude (parking is available above each beach):
- Sahara Nude Beach (near Lopar)
One of 22 sandy beaches on Rab, discreetly accessible only via a narrow forest path or by boat. Like all "wild beaches," this one is undeveloped (so bring your own supplies). Due to its accessibility, this beach is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users. - Kandalora Nude Bay (Frkanj Peninsula)
This bay is, so to speak, the birthplace of naturism on the Adriatic. It was here that British King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson bathed naked together.
- Monty's Dog Beach (Banjol district)
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the regular beaches, but in general, vacationing with a dog on Rab is no problem. In Banjol, on the gently sloping pebble beach, there is the official dog beach Monty's Dog Beach (deck chairs and umbrellas are available for rent). You can treat yourself and your four-legged friend at the on-site bar.
From the town of Rab, the dog beach is only a 6-minute drive or a 31-minute walk away.
