Festival of the Cape

In a clever nod to Lignano's street layout, the Festa delle Cape takes place in Piazza Marcello d'Olivo. In terms of the street layout, this square is located at the exit of the "Snail" in Lignano.

It is a festival organized by the local fishermen's association to benefit a charitable cause, where you can sample the delicacies of the Adriatic Sea paired with local wines:

• Cappe Lunghe (razor clams)
• Vongole (clams)
• Calamari (squid)
• breaded, grilled sardines (delicious!) or in saor (i.e., marinated, as the Venetians say).
