Vrsar is surrounded by breathtaking coastal scenery and offers numerous coves, rocky outcrops, and idyllic beaches that are perfect for relaxing and sunbathing.
You can also take a stroll along the waterfront promenade and enjoy the magnificent views of the sea and the surrounding islands.
For example, the Limski Channel, a picturesque fjord near Vrsar, is another natural gem worth exploring.
History
of Vrsar
Vrsar has a rich history dating back to Roman times. The town was once an important fishing and trading port. Today, you can still admire its medieval architecture, explore its narrow streets, and experience the charm of days gone by. Visit the 12th-century Church of St. Mary or explore the ruins of the old fortress overlooking the town.
Particularly worth mentioning is the popular Montraker Beach, known for its cleanliness and crystal-clear water. It owes its name to an old quarry. This is where the International Summer School of Sculpture is located, which offers an open sculpture workshop every year during the last week ofSeptember (duration: 3 weeks).
This is also why there are so many original sculptures to admire in the area. Clearly, the Adriatic climate is very conducive to creativity, as evidenced by the Scogliera Viva in Caorle.

Culture
It seems that the infamous adventurer Giacomo Casanova really did leave no stone unturned - because he was here in Vrsar, too. He must have made a truly lasting impression, because even today, the Casanova Festival is held in his honor - featuring literary evenings, concerts, and film screenings over the course of three days.
Otherwise, from April through the end of September, there are festivals and celebrations, as is customary in any Adriatic town. With fireworks and music against the picturesque backdrop of Vrsar’s old town.
Good news for seafood lovers: Lim Bay is ideal for oyster farming (and other shellfish).
The shellfish farmed here belong to the Ostreidae family: gray, flat, slightly curved on one side, with plenty of succulent meat and a slightly sweet flavor.
Of course, no one has to go without in the summer, but the best time to enjoy oysters is in the winter and late spring.
