The Lake of Nations - a beautiful name for a beautiful body of water, even if it is artificial. In the summer, it transforms into a true paradise for sailing and rowing enthusiasts: canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, sailing, and windsurfing - everything is possible here.
On the lake lies the beautiful paradise of Spiaggia Romea, the undisputed stronghold of the white Po Delta horses (descended from the Camargue breed, they feel right at home in the humid delta climate thanks to their innate characteristics).
This is the place for sports. The Lido delle Nazioni even features an artificial lake and is home to the headquarters of the Italian Shipping Association. Spanning over five hectares, the area boasts numerous bungalows, sports facilities for a wide variety of disciplines, and a vast array of water sports. Of course, there's no shortage of entertainment - don't miss the popular midsummer festival with its spectacular fireworks display on the water.
The sandy beach offers the usual recreational activities for children, while adults can enjoy a thermal spa specializing in baths with bromine-iodine tincture.
The town also includes the Lago delle Nazioni, an artificial inland lake home to eels and mullet. As in the entire Po Delta, bird species can be found here that an uninformed vacationer would not expect to see.
But water sports events also take place here, such as the Italian Triathlon Championships.

Lido delle Nazioni made history on August 3, 1849, when the Italian folk hero and future founder of the Italian state, Giuseppe Garibaldi, landed here by boat and hid in a garden shed or beach hut (Capanno Garibaldi). It still stands today and is open to visitors.
Those who wish to follow in Garibaldi's footsteps will be delighted to see his monument in Cesenatico.
