It is probably no coincidence that Luca Goldoni, the great comedy writer, immortalized them in his Baruffe Chiozzotte. Whether it's love, quarrels, or music - the town's romantic intimacy turns just about every sound into a semi-public event. And so the people of Chioggia rarely lack topics of conversation the next day.
By the way: Goldoni's comedy is frequently performed at its original venues. Even without understanding the rather harsh dialect: laughter is allowed. Or bickering. Depending on the production.
