The smallest of the six sestieri on the main island. San Polo used to be the commercial district. Places worth seeing include the Rialto Bridge, the Rialto Market, and the Basilica dei Frari. The heart of the district is the beautiful Campo San Polo, the second-largest square in Venice after St. Mark's Square. While there are tourists here as well, it's not much more authentic than St. Mark's Square.
