Santa Croce

The West of Venice

The western part of the city, which includes the bus station at Piazzale Roma, the parking garages, and the modern port - including the cruise ship terminal - makes up the Santa Croce district. Large parts of the historic center south of the Grand Canal also belong to this district of Venice.

Santa Croce includes all parts of Venice with streets for cars and buses. Most tourists arrive here. Santa Croce also contains the only parts of the island of Venice that are not part of the historic center (port facilities, train stations, parking garages, government offices, etc.).
